Favignana (Italian: Isola di Favignana, Latin Aegusa) - an island in the Mediterranean Sea, in the Aegadian archipelago. It is home to the village of Favignana. Formerly, the island was a Phoenician colony.
Currently, the main occupation of the island's inhabitants is tuna fishing and tourist traffic. Favignana has a permanent sea connection with the port of Trapani, operated by hydrofoils. The journey takes approximately 20 minutes.
