The theater could seat over 3,000 people, it was illuminated with a thousand candles, it had 5 wreaths of boxes, each of which was different.

Their names derive from the families which are traditionally credited with having constructed the towers between 1109 and 1119.

It runs along a specially prepared pontoon pier, from St. Mark through the Grand Canal to the Church of Santa Maria della Salute.
