The Imperial Fora (Fori Imperiali in Italian) are a series of monumental fora (public squares), constructed in Rome over a period of one and a half centuries, between 46 BC and 113 AD. The fora were the center of the Roman Republic and of the Roman Empire.

The Mausoleum of Hadrian, usually known as Castel Sant'Angelo ( English: Castle of the Holy Angel), is a towering cylindrical building in Parco Adriano in Rome. It was initially commissioned by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as a mausoleum for himself and his family. The building was later used by the popes as a fortress and castle, and is now a museum. The structure was once the tallest building in Rome.

Rome. Basilica of Saint Peter. The monumental dome was designed by Michelangelo Buonarotti, who in 1547 (already 72 years old) took the position of the chief architect of St. Peter. The Renaissance genius changed the plans of his predecessors, including Bramante, and undertook the creation of a temple on a central plan, crowned with a monumental dome.
